These posts will attempt in some way to evolve the conversation we have with ourselves, with each other, with art, history, time, poetry, love, chocolate&#8211;pretty much anything that seems worthwhile!<\/p>\n<p>What if our stories were not carved in stone? What if historical events were not? What if we could evolve these stories? Turn them upside-down? Inside-out? Provide a new context? Engage in a new conversation? What if we could rebuild what is broken? What if instead of bombshells raining down over Berlin, it was poetry?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-jHOrnTSEOg?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"640\" height=\"390\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nSince 2001, the Chilean art collective\u00a0Casagrande\u00a0has been staging \u201cPoetry Rain\u201d projects in cities that have suffered aerial bombings in their history\u2014cities like Warsaw, Berlin, Santiago de Chile,\u00a0Dubrovnik, and Guernica. In Berlin in 2010, thousands gathered in the city\u2019s Lustgarten as 100,000 poems rained down from the sky. The poems, dropped by helicopter, included work by 80 German and Chilean poets.<\/p>\n<p>What if on 9\/11 what filled the sky was a migration of monarch butterflies?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8\" title=\"fromheretothere\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.evolvetheconversation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/fromheretothere.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"168\" height=\"167\" srcset=\"http:\/\/blog.evolvetheconversation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/fromheretothere.jpg 168w, http:\/\/blog.evolvetheconversation.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/fromheretothere-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 168px) 100vw, 168px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Two years after the Twin Towers fell, my husband, Joe, and I were driving down the West Side Drive, past the meat-packing district when I saw what looked like debris falling from the sky. The image broke my words into silence. Then we got closer and the debris was not debris at all. Hundreds, maybe thousands of Monarch butterflies were beginning their 2,500 mile migration to Mexico.<\/p>\n<p><object height=\"81\" width=\"100%\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/player.soundcloud.com\/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F22400379%3Fsecret_token%3Ds-xmcAs&#038;secret_url=true\"><\/param><param name=\"allowscriptaccess\" value=\"always\"><\/param><embed allowscriptaccess=\"always\" height=\"81\" src=\"http:\/\/player.soundcloud.com\/player.swf?url=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.soundcloud.com%2Ftracks%2F22400379%3Fsecret_token%3Ds-xmcAs&#038;secret_url=true\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"100%\"><\/embed><\/object>   <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps we are being given signs all the time on how we can evolve our conversations.
